Poetry / Finding Faith

I'm falling to pieces, shattered by heavy hands, hands I once trusted. I'm losing my faith and hope swirls away. I need something to believe. I once imagined, trusted, sunshine fell on my path. But now it's darkened with shadows. I want to feel warmth on my face, to see the stars and moon instead of dark clouds. Give me something to believe. You take my hand, hold me close, erasing the dark places, sheltering me from the storm. I feel tears, but there is hope, joy. I tremble, but it's not fro...

“Fuck” is one of my favorite words in the English language. It’s not so much it can be used in any form whether it’s a verb, noun or adjective. It’s more that it’s fun to say and adds a certain emphasis on what I’m saying. When I yell “what the fuck are you doing?” at someone, they know I’m pissed. Yelling “Fuck!” when something goes wrong seems to relieve more stress than yelling “Sugar!” like my mother does. I never understood how my mother could yell “Sugar!” when something goes wrong beca...

Novel Treatments / Angel of Death -- Part 1

I’m the angel you hope never to meet. Hal is my name, and death is my game. Well, it was my game until recently. That’s right, I was the Angel of Death, but no longer. I apparently screwed up one too many times because I have been demoted. I am really not happy about the whole thing, but I just have to smile and wing it. The boss, you probably call him God, beckoned me into his office after I accidentally left someone I was supposed to take. I knew I was in trouble, so I didn’t move too quick...

I feel like you can take out some words in this poem to make it better. Like you could take out the "and" in the first line of the second stanza and add a comma. "You laughed, wished." But your sentiment is clear and just needs a few tweaks.
Poetry / Lord Byron
I like this. I went and looked up "She Walks in Beauty" to compare, and I really like your spoof. I wonder if you should change the title, though. Maybe "He Walks in Beauty" or something. Also, the only real nit picky thing is that Byron's poem is two stanzas. You have three. But overall, this is good and spoofs the original quite well.
I think you're glossing over things too much. You give us a sentence or two or three about something with no details, no anecdotes. I think your piece would be much more compelling if you got more detailed and specific. Tell us about where you went when you took off on the babysitter. Tell us more specifics on things you did that were crazy. Give us more specifics on your mental illness. The more detail you can give with a few stories, the better. It'll grip the reader more. You also seem das...
