at night the memory of you smoulders within me like the remains of some strange fire built long ago it is a curious feeling sometimes in the still of the night I cry out frightened and confused feeling like a child who is not quite awake and yet not asleep alone in the shadows drifting helplessly between alternate worlds of dreams and realities in the darkness of my universe the embers of this strange fire become a galaxy of sad stars lighting my way

I divulged my secret passion for her, and found LoL in my inbox. she may as well have laughed in my face, and I guess she did; that's what LoL means, Laugh out Loud. all these people running around Facebook and Myspace, flirting and poking each other like a kennel of dogs in heat; all in good fun-- that's the theory. Playgirls all over the world-- Denmark, Sweden,Africa, Spain-- are freaking with me and sending me kisses, it's flattering, and I shouldn't complain; at least they're interested...

so? seriously, poetry doesn't need to rhyme all the time, not necessarily. most of my rhymes are accidental, or coincidental. see?

the dog next door is howling mournfully tonight. it sounds like she is calling someone named Harold. a dog in the distance is also howling. he wants to know who Harold is? the dog next door isn't saying, but then it was none of our business in the first place.

Kid Stuff why do adults say things to kids. like, "get your fingers "out of your nose, "before you poke your brains out"? and to think, I used to believe them.

Things For Which I Am Thankful creativity. this new day, breath in my lungs, my right mind, eyes and ears, clarity. feet and hands, freedom, mobility. ability. work, food, and shelter, family, home, stability. the kindness of strangers, generosity. civility, friendship, love, no hostility. a sense of humor, hilarity. endurability.

I went there, I came back, now I am here.
