I am 28 years old…been writing all my life. I’m a novice writer, who writes from the depths of my soul. I write about my own experiences, emotions, as well as other people’s experiences and everything about life. I believe that “life is art, so share its beauty with the world.” In the same respect, my poems are reflections of life: complicated, yet simple, constantly transforming pieces of art. I hope to achieve this goal by one day publishing my work to share it with the world. My life purpose: empower others to achieve their fullest potential…and in doing so, I achieve mine.
I’ve always had a passion to work with at-risk and underserved communities and helping empower them to achieve success, opportunity and equality. ...

Relentless are the wounded When they fall into a barb wired rose bush Temporary are the prickly thorns Their lacerated fingers easily picks each thorn off One by one, from their worn and torn cotton ankle socks. Steadfast are the wounded That rise with the purple orange hues of the sun’s rays Warmth found in their bruised, locked down, Protected four chambered confines The rusted lock and key have now vanished. Champions are the wounded Whom venture out into the battlefield of unknown territ...

Tantalizing tunes harken deep into the darkness, Piercing through the dense fog of the night, Evangelizing, Awakening, And calling forth, Its audience, Where ‘shady’ shadows lurk. I see them doing paper chasin’ dances, Singing, their euphoric notes of, Adrenaline pimpin’, Needle humpin’, In dark, menacing corners, Of a hustler’s famous stage. On the corner, I see spilled, Permanent blood-stained notes, Of the same ol’ song, Of red streams flowing, Down, These concrete pages, In the hood, Agai...

Under this beautiful, Towering, Willow tree, Leaves faintly falling, Fleeting, Whispers, Branches brushing against, My shoulders, A gentle embrace, So soft are… Your eyes, I find, My gateway, To your soul, I have the only key, Guiding me to unlock, Your puzzle… I find myself staring, At you. My smooth, Child-like fingers, Anxious and finicky, Reaches out, To gently trace, Your lips, Back, To mine. Underneath the beauty, Of nature’s wonder, The cotton clouds, Scurry above us, Attempting to ama...

Yes...I agree with you here. Everyone is a work of art: unique in every way, shape and form....embodying special and unique characteristics. It is in these diverse and unique qualities, where we learn more about other and ourselves as well. I agree that we have to learn how to "adore them" (people and qualities) or become compassionate, empathetic towards others...that helps to build a true bridge for understanding. Once we understand someone, that helps to form strong bonds and relationships...
I read this quote and thought to myself (my interpretation): Yes, lies never lie, because the individual is AWARE that they're lying...and if they do so in front of you..then it reveals THEIR TRUTH...who they REALLY are...So for me...this quote said so much! Personally, my greatest pet peeve in the world (besides people who cut you off in the street or those who you allow to get in front of you and they don't say thank you..lol) are people who tell lies...telling the truth is the hardest thin...
First thought that came to mind was: we all feel this way sometimes, especially when we don't understand why things happen...how it happened...the difficult times, of course. The frustration that lies inside of us is due to our impatience of not knowing why (that's my own observation). So, then we wake up asking...why am i even here? to go through another difficult time? why am i being punished? questions we have all asked at one poitn in our lives..or questions we've all heard others say. I ...
Yes, I agree....we create what we want in life...how we want our lives to be...and how we decide to react to the things, experiences or people in our lives. Your quote is so true. It reminds me of this quote I read from a book called "Conversations with God" by Neale Walsh..it's actually an interesting read...if you get a chance..check it out...but the quote from that book is "..it is in your reaction, where you find salvation"..i think it falls along the same lines as your quote...whatever h...
Pretty funny piece. I like this one. I was laughing as I read your poem, especially as it got towards the end. I even thought that the beginning of the poem was great...the words you chose...and the phrases were great...it was as if i could really see you sitting there at your desk..and hear your typing away. Loved it! And, the rest of the poem was cool...it gives us a better picture of the character in your piece...frugal??? lol!..na, maybe just careful. Good work here.
