We arrive at dusk, and check into our hotel room. Immediately we hit the mini-bar to calm our jangled nerves. A few minutes later, we emerge from rotating lobby doors and casually waltz into Times Square with affected sophistication. The amount of people we see, multiplied by the miles of high-rise buildings is beyond our comprehension. The city is rude, stinking, and wonderful. We hardly know which direction to take. We ask the local inhabitants stupid tourist-questions. We do come across a ...

Where are you tonight? Swaying underneath the moonlight with somebody new? Do you have a clue how I wish I was holding you tight Tonight? Whatever do you see in her now? Why do I let it bring me so down? If you're nothing special why do I have all these questions Tonight? Stars gleam bright in the midnight sky Moonlit clouds are flying by Crickets playing a symphony And the wind is sighing just like me All I want in the whole wide world is to hear you tell me I'm your girl Plenty of fish in t...

If you're nothing special why do I have all these questions Tonight? Stars so bright in the big black sky Moonlit clouds are flying by The crickets play me a symphony And the wind is sighing just like me All I want in he whole wide world is to hear you tell me I'm your girl Plenty of fish in the ...

It was like two poets wrote this. writing it...one very good, and one not so hot. It seems in the excitement to get it out of you, it came in a rush and was quickly captured in essence only. Now, you just need to sit down and seriously tweak each stanza, concentrate on the connotation of the words, find the exact placement. I'd just dissect this sucker and really get a thesaurus or rhyme program and polish it up, & perfect each stanza. Like this one here: Blindly he stumbled about Desperate t...

Short Story / Nice Things
Hey there, I liked the first ending a thousand times more. Although in this one, the mother has clearly taken her last lick from everyone, in the first one, it was creepier, how the father couldn't have cared less. Good luck! ~thysta
Very nice. As a smoker who longs to quit, and encourage others in my family to quit also, this will go on my fridge. I like the overall flow. Concise, yet full of regret, emotion, and that blindly selfish stupidity. I wouldn't change a thing about this piece. Thank you. ~thysta
Short Story / Nice Things
Hi. Your story is spectacular, and everything a short story should be. Very polished. I read it several times and I found nothing aberrant. From beginning to end,it was concise and emotionally riveting. Wonderful work. ~thysta
