The Rev. Marcus is a rogue scholar, writer, angry liberal and designer…His novel, Rorschach’s Ribs will be out this month from Vicious Books. (www.viciousbooks.com)When he isn’t writing or cursing the government under his breath, he’s fronting the Gothic-Americana band, Strawfoot. He only runs when chased, he only gambles with his life. He’s desperately trying to find someone who may have google-mapped directions to Funky Town.
When I review I like to make a point to find both the positive and the constructive points of the work, I try to be honest but not rude. I expect the same from my peers. If I misread your work, or don’t understand a sentiment, illuminate me…don’t let it hurt your feelings and don’t block me like a leetle bee…

Charlie has no use for me so he sat me down and set me free Always hoped I'd catch a break Instead that break's laid into me Don't miss my boss, don't miss my cube Don't miss that corporate attitude The only thing I really miss Is paying rent and buying food (chorus) So tell me Charlie what you've got to say When a working man can't work for another day You can knock me down, show me the door But I'll keep coming back for more So now I have all day to sit To cast the blame and pitch a fit To ...

Cotton mouth in another town I drank the river dry Traveling with a broken crown, a demon passing by I watched the blackbirds taking flight like ashes in the wind They disappeared into the night and I felt my spirit bend (chorus) I'd scream right up to heaven if I thought it'd do me good I'd wash my hands of sin, if I really thought I could I'd speak my mind right now if I had half a mind to give and I'd lay right down and die if I had ever... really lived I went and killed a man today I watc...

We had a blizzard yesterday. At least, that’s what the news channels were calling it. Bottom line, it snowed…a lot. They warned us. By 9:am, the world was covered in a blanket of soft fluffy snow. Schools were smart; they closed. The public education system is required by law to care about the general well-being of the student body. Safety concerns, apparently, are something we grow out of as we hit adulthood. It goes hand in hand with giving up a rousing game of kick ball at recess and the a...

too right. Whether we'd like to admit it or not, most artists have some sort of ego...usually fragile...it's a pride in the work and the responsibility to create, I think...
This had a nice flow to it, a real smooth read. I really enjoyed the details of the home, the toys and underwear, it feels like any and every american home. you were able to turn a seemingly uneventful happening into a poignant statement that somehow echoes our society as a whole. Maybe I'm stretching, or reading too much into this, (the discussion of replacing our american icons has been on the forefront of my mind lately, with the InBev buy out of Budweiser but the subtle way you point out ...
wow. this tells a really great and really sad story...your descriptions of the events were beautiful...does it have a deeper meaning than the surface story?

very entertaining...the churning and burning, I take as your inspiration and words not yet written, tossing and turning, unable to sleep until the art is free...but like 99% of the writers and painters, as beautiful a masterpiece as it may be, it will not earn you your fortune...but I'm sure you're a richer person having done it. Nice.
