CHAPTER 3 FIRST IMPRESSIONS Whether by choice or by design, some human beings go through days of unremarkable overlapping occurrences of little interest to them. Monotonous routines overtake their lives. This happens to some, that is, but not to Sol Hamborsky. Sol wants nothing to do with lethargy. A retired MIT mathematics professor from Warsaw, Poland, who came to the United States in 1943, he was a highly regarded researcher in the field of sonar development during World War II. Shortly af...

CHAPTER 2 THE COUNCIL MEETING OF ELDERS A large door-like structure opens for Gorogg, as he enters a triangular structure, unlit and somber. Only the elders can approach the chamber which contains the Ephitrion, a large machine, resembling a computer, able to track occurances all over the universe. Its giant screen likens to that of the geographic satellite of our weather channel and, with the press of a button, switches back and forth to different parts of the Earth, revealing everything tha...

CHAPTER 8 "Sol's Moral Dilemma" "Good morning, Mr. Hamborsky! It's time for your blood pressure medication." Bertha Stanton is Sol's favorite nurse, who comes each morning to administer his medicine. This morning, Sol stares straight out into space, without responding. "Mr. Hamborsky, are you all right?" Sol looks dazed, far away, ruminating. "A penny for your thoughts, Videoman! What are you thinking about now?" Bertha teases. "I'm always thinking." Sol awakens from his personal reverie, wit...

Dawn breaks over PAX. Ancient inhabitants, intrigued by the Roman word for "peace" thus named their home in recognition of the "Pax Romana". The PAXian realm, true to its description, is lush, green and teems with life throughout oceans and air. Every inch of space is honored by the respective inhabitants of the planet. Invisible, balmy air wafts throughout the atmosphere, maintaining balance and harmony. Waters are the clearest blue, beyond human imagination, emitting sparkling, diamond-lik...

PROLOGUE Since time began, human beings have been destructive to themselves and others. The people of Earth are deadly consumers who never give anything back. Self-centeredness, greed and lust for power and material wealth cause us to ignore that which has true meaning, such as peace, respect for others, and preservation of the environment. Instead, we argue about property rights, religion, different ways of thinking, and a host of other considerations. Divisions in humanity lead to endless w...

"The Last Autumn" is delightfully descriptive. Although the work is short, it's message is very clear. Good luck with your future writing.
"Gone Away" was nicely written. Anyone who has ever lost a loved one or a friend would relate to the bewilderment of grief which you have exhibited in your piece. I do not know exactly what you intended your audience to experience while reading this work, but for me, it was sadness, confusion, and eventually, acceptance and peace. Good luck to you.
This segment contained interesting subject matter. I was gripped by your character, Greg, and I would like to read more (and also the previous chapters of your story). Although, you have some grammatical and spelling errors, I am sure that via thorough proof reading, you will make those corrections. Good luck with your writing.
I am not a publisher, but I enjoy childrens' literature. Your poem is bright and cheery. I am sure that it will put a smile on many little faces. Good luck with your work.
