About Company:
Launched on January 6, 2006 (National Smith Day), SMITH is an online magazine devoted to personal storytelling in its many shapes and forms. SMITH has been featured in hundreds of media outlets from NPR to The New Yorker. It has been hailed as visionary by BoingBoing, called “essential reading” by Dave Eggers, and “the model for the 21st Century writing community” by The Publishing Spot. SMITH stories have found their way onto daily news sites, classroom curriculums from K to grad school, blogs, T-shirts, bottle caps, and artisanal pickle jars. In addition, since its launch just two and a half years ago, SMITH now has nine books—two already in print, including the six-week New York Times bestseller, Not Quite What I Was Planning: Six-Word Memoirs by Writers Famous & Obscure (HarperCollins) and the graphic novel, Shooting War (Grand Central Publishing).
