Granite~Eyes, Part II
I Awaken

As if captivating my mind & body & soul,
Thoughts & dreams soften these open granite eyes of stone
Remembering a time when life was cold & frigid
With no love in the distance.
They were so uncertain & uncaring before today
Feeling all-alone in my own prison until this girl came from astray.
She looked inside me where no one has been or even allowed to see
Seeing things I had forgotten in me & some cherished memories.
Using the comfort of her heartfelt touch to make me remember
& To know how to love & care again; & so this do I do for her.
With her everlasting thoughts even through the days of sad &
hollow,
These green eyes of mine could never again turn to granite or have a heart
of stone;
For because of her, I know I am loved & will never again be alone.
