Amusing.
Is this describing Bush?
It struck me as him.
He is a cowboy riding the nation.
But it seems like an ass riding a nation.
Now, I love this.
The first pass was lacking something.
Assless Chaps.
hahahahahaha
love the double-entendre.
most politicians have no ass because they ARE asses ;-PPP
I am still laughing!!!!!
Excellent Job.
Interesting how one line can turn the world around!!!!
Thanks for The OLL (out loud laugh)
You got a 10 from me!!!
Clever, clever. I’m postive that most hold a grudge against the president, great way to write it; in poetry!
I’m not a fan of political poetry, but it has its place. Usually I shy away from it or criticize it harshly because writers tend to be so heavy handed with it, writing polemic instead of poetry. That’s not the case here. Your second line particularly is quite evocative. It reminds me of that image in Dr. Strangeglove, riding the atom bomb.
I don’t know if I’m being too picky, but the last line/word while expressive seems disconnected. I almost want to see a hyphen at the end of line two, some indication that a grammatical switch-up is coming. Ideally I’d read it as “cowboy riding the nation TO humiliation.” But that’s a syllabic violation!
I think calling him a cowboy is generous by the way. He’d never make it on the range, lol.
Very poignant piece
Of political humor
Quite clever my friend
Although I don’t hate Bush, liked the haiku and understand the reasoning behind it. What about nations?
