Poetry / As i hate you i smile
It makes me happy to see you sad,
i bet you wish i’d beleived it was dead.
You lied and lied,
thought i’d never know,well guess what…...i do.
Its gone and its not coming back no matter how much you cry,
if only you could live and let die.
You told me everything,
or so i thought.
You told me nothing and thats the only truth.
The laughter at how pathetic you are warms my heart,
but you taking my only other friends tears in half.
I’m not gonna care if you turn around when you see me,
not gonna care if you lie about who i am,
but i am gonna care if you ever try to destroy what i have with him.
So leave it and run cause I know who you are now and if I catch you prepare to fall for I know the truth and I know it all..

This piece is about betrayal and the icy consequences thereof.
It is about the sting of rebuttal and the bile that rises up in defence.
It chronicles the rejection covered by the thick veneer summed up in the thinly veiled threat of attack.
To me it speaks of a person who is hurting and fragile on the inside who throws out the postures of strength to cover the pain and insecurity.
As a poem this is very good (by my reckoning) but is too wrapped up in the emotion of the moment. I think that the author can look again at this piece and by changing just a couple of words, turn it into something really special.
