Poetry / respectful zulu

howling black waves
pounded the doomed,
welshmen of steel,
travesty loomed.

spearhead poundings,
relentless attacker,
wrong end of mountain,..
rourkes drift,south africa.

brave welshmen stood fast,
melodic in stance,
battered by waves..
of zulu advance.

singing in tunic,
valley men bred,
black waves of heat,
in rivers of red.

respectful zulu,
not mindless marauder,
held assegai high
and saluted….the south wales borderer.
