Quotes / Playing the game

Being dealt a bad hand of cards is a pretty common expression, so for originality it’s not really novel, but I like the last part about bluffing, as one does in a game of poker. I don’t think you’ll get professional advice on something this short and it’s not profound enough to gain admiration but it’s a good quote, as we  all sort of bluff our through the world I think at times. You might try to make the quote more concise though as whatever cards we are dealt, it does take some bluffing to make it through life.

The analogy is a very good one.

I think I understand this quote, and as I see it. You’re saying that when life has given you a hard go at things. And then you merely put on a mask of content to fool those around you, or maybe even yourself. To hide what problems lay in your hand and to make others believe you have it better than them/you do. I hope I understood it properly, but I quite enjoy it.

Wow, great quote. It’s worded very well. I have no suggestions on how it could be re-phrased. Well done there. As for the content, it’s so tragic. I felt really sad. Like, because you know that you have a bad hand. It must feel quite sad. Like they say ‘ignorance is bliss’, but you’re aware. :/ The message has been said a few times before in other pieces, but I think this one’s really cool the way you’re using cards. And it seems ‘bigger’ the way you say you’re fooling ‘the world’. I like this quote a lot. 10s all around.

Nice quote. You need a comma after cards or cards; I’m bluffing (which I prefer).

Not a bad quote. I’m glad to hear you’re bluffing rather than folding. I find gambling in one’s nature to be an admirable quality. Shows grit and determination. Good work. Keep em coming.

You know a bluff works better if you don’t announce it. It needs to be snappier, the deliver is sort of lacking.

i really liked this. so life isn’t always fair, and we cant do everything we wanted to, that doesn’t mean we crack, or turn away, instead we stand up, face the world, and lie until we can convince ourselves its worth the fight. well done :)
