Poetry / arion
My song is heavy
a verse of gold
my story depicts
a man humble and bold
brides had been stolen
and kings tasted blood
i sat beside myself
and wept to the gods
i wish for no pity
i lived happy and free
my glass never empty
i danced in ecstasy
just give me one last chance
i want to see you dance
this song will be my last
then i promise ill be gone
my head contains melodies
my soul sends in fragments
please, before you rob me
don’t deny me my last lament
let me sing
for you
one last time
let me share
with you
one more rhyme
<the martyr stood in front of the crew
amused at hearing his soft lute
he gained fame and fortune in his life
but his apparent fate he would not dispute
his swan song surfaced
on this ship at sea
and he ventured forth valiantly
the cosmic song leading him
to paradise>
friends allow me
he said
to come forth
and make my amends
i’m a man
of few words
let my music speak
and all else be absurd
hear me universe
my song speaks to you
let it touch you all
and hear me goddess
don’t let my melody fall
draped in his robes
he calmly sang
and dear to his promise
from the seaboard he sprang
miraculously
he was saved
a dolphin swam to his aid
replying with a tender moan
the songsmith’s plight was delayed
“immortal now i stand
a bronze figurine
but i hope this image won’t outlast
my voice
trembling and serene”
