Quotes / Conformwithme

The only truly endearing feature in another is the ability to confirm anothers illusions and farces, to boost the ego and act supportingly in everyones personal episodes, eschewing ones own filters, for the shared and common filter, creating a harmony and hopefully an uplifting shared experience. Such a subtle thing, destroyed if recognized wholly, is only captured best by the truly receptive through the slighest of visual, aural, oral and body cues. Together as actors in this place we all can be as we are.

It’s a little convoluted in speech to read clearly but what I think this means is that one suspends one’s own reality to a degree when with another to share in a common experience that binds them together, or am I wrong? But if that is what is being said, I’m not so sure that is totally true, for I think it is more the finding of another who shares the same reality and values and has similar quirks or takes on reality thereby having a simpatico or a bond that allows them to relate.

As valid a perspective as the next guy.  A tad elitist, a couple of big buzz words like “filter” and “harmony”, the meanings of which can be easily bent to one’s will, but a nice conclusion.  It let’s us all off the hook.

As for the writing it’s fine.  I don’t think you’ll sway Governor Palin’s husband but who knows?  As a quote it’s a little long, though the last line has possibilities.  Nice diction, just hovering under the shelf where I keep my OED.

This is really very true. They only thing is, I wouldn’t say “to boost the ego” because when most people hear ego they think of it in a negative way. I’d say self esteem. Also fix the title, it has no spaces for one thing and it says conform but the rest of the quote says confirm. I just don’t think the title makes sense. Keep writing!

This is very sophisticated and intelligently written. To simplify a little bit,it sounds like empathy or rapport. It reminds me of moments when you bond with someone, or share an experience with someone where you feel you really like each other and there is no tension. I wish I experienced this more often, even with people I’m close with.

Very good. I don’t necessarily agree (there’s something to be said for being a dissenter), but you make your case well. I’d suggest tweaking the last line; if you start off by referring to everyone as “actors”, then you should continue with the metaphor, comparing life to a stage or movie.

Nice quote, but very lengthy.  Good ideas though.  I wish I felt like “this place” was somewhere I could be as I am.  However, I don’t usually feel like I can be myself without being judged.  I’m happy for you if you’ve found your place.
Cheers.

Too flowery and lenghthy.  Best quoted lines are those that you receive a punch from the fewest amounts of words.  The first line could deliver that punch if you shortened it and arrived at the mark.
