Poetry / Wicked Train Ticket
Its a wicked train ticket
That leads to a place
Seven-million miles from here
That place I’ve been trying to reach
But I just never had the guts
Its that wicked train ticket
That’s tucked away in my armoire
Its expires on the twelfth of never
But it only goes one way
Its a wicked train ticket
That speaks to me so much
It makes me pretty promises at night
But it hasn’t gotten me far
Its that wicked train ticket
That makes me feel so ashamed
Of being caught in a dead-end existence
And taking the world for granted
And its that wicked train ticket
That makes me feel so helpless
While I harbour its neatly printed destination
And never take the right way out
