thoughts circle quickly through my head
it’s hard to admit that dream has gone dead
standing back from life for so long
feeling happiness through a sad song
restraining myself from living here
knowing that really there is nothing to fear
seeing your face in a world that’s not mine
longing to cross the heart wrenching line
denying the feelings that hungrily want you
thinking it won’t happen, it can’t be true
possibility is all that my heart will see
wanting to be with you has set me free
not sure of the instinct that I should just try
now your breath won’t leave my head
thoughts of your fingers make me sigh
longing for you to look my way again
not knowing where to start
