Poetry / this is love
when my heart breaks
she finds a way to mend it
when my eyes fill with tears
she finds a way to make them smile
when i don’t feel loved
she finds a way to love me
her quiet grace
and subtle ways
move me like no other
her gentle voice
and easy laugh
set my mind at ease
were she to touch my face
it would shake me to my core
a soft caress
would mean the world to me
a tender kiss
would shatter all my defenses
this is love
i know
this is love

‘Your poem’ for me began on the fifth stanza…I can see your personal stamp there after.
In my reading – your format, metered pacing, and brevity – breathes throughout your telling. You effectively permit us to linger on a word or two here and there. I believe this is your gift in poetry. Bey

i believe you’re right…this is most deffinitely love. what a sweet, loving tribute to all it’s glory. :)tina
I like the feeling of this piece, but I do not understand why you changed from when to were. I think it would have been a much sweeter piece if you had made them all “when.”
