It is really open to interpretation. The madness is what ever in personal to you. To me, it is the “voice” in my head. The one that sometimes gives “crazy” ideas or thoughts. I have bipolar disorder. That pretty much explains it.

Unless the madness tells you differently, you are an artist.

I don’t know. Non-artists tend to be less crazy, in my experience, so madness wouldn’t tell them that. The way the quote is formatted, it feels like it should follow something else. I’d just flip the first and second parts around to fix that. Also, maybe replace “the” with “your”.

I enjoy this quote as I am an artist who is quite often thought of as “mad”. Though I wonder in your terms who is your “madness”? That would be the only critique, madness of what?... Madness of society, madness of parental verbal abuse, etc….?
This is a damn good quote. Often times, the most brilliant minds among us are the oddest. Eccentricity can very often be attributed to a brilliant mind.
I like it, and it’s true. I think the madness is true, for all artists as well, and I like the play on that there’s dialogue going on. I like it.
Hmmm oh so very true. Some people see your work as madness but unless you see it that way, it is your own work of art. =D Favorite.
So True!!!!! I Love it!!!!!
i think that even if the madness tells you differently, you are still an artist. nothing can take that away from someone.
I like it. Nothing to improve really, but it’s true.
I would like to use your quotation for an exhibition I am curating in the Guggenheim in Bilbao, Spain. Would that be okay? Is it Faruli with an F?
Very thought provoking and lament. Your quote relates to all of us who reside on the Urbis front. Great work!
