Haiku/Senryu / Art

This is great!  i love haiku when it can contain so much feeling and create a clear image like this one does.  Its hard to do and this piece is very successful.  I hope you do as well in your science class

A well done Haiku.  This is not my forte so I can be generous and give you a ten.  Good job.

VERY INTERESTING. I HAD TO THINK ABOUT THIS ONE FOR AWHILE. ARE YOU SAYING THAT, IN FRIENDSHIP, WE OFTEN DO THINGS THAT HAVE A DESTRUCTIVE EFFECT UPON THE FRIENDSHIP?
OR ARE YOU SAYING THAT WE APPRECIATE THE FRIEND’S WAY OF LIVING SO MUCH THAT WE ATTEMPT TO LIVE IN THE SAME WAY?
YOU COULD HAVE PHRASED IT IN THIS WAY:
FRIENDSHIP IS AN ART. YOU CAN BURN DOWN IT’S MUSEUM, OR STEAL THE PAINTINGS.
THERE WOULD BE NO PAINTINGS TO STEAL-IF YOU BURN DOWN THE MUSEUM BEFORE YOU HAVE A CHANCE TO STEAL THEM.
STILL, I THINK YOU HAVE AN INTERESTING POINT OF VIEW.

I really like this, but I don’t think it is a haiku even though it adheres to the 5-7-5.  Haikus tend to have lines that work just as well when placed in next to  any of the other lines.  This would not work with your second and third lines as it they are basically one sentence, broken into the syllable count of a haiku.  While this is classified as haiku, I haven’t scored it as such.

Losing a friend is quite sad. You put it into perspective, though.

TThis was a really poignant piece, it has a powerful message and yet conveys it in a somewhat lighthearted tone, the analogy of the museam and stolen art was brilliantly done. Good write

i like your metaphor here, the suggested idea that true friendship is extremely invaluable…but easily destroyed when one person in the relationship has absolutely no respect for it and violates completely. good job on this senryu. keep writing.
