Poetry / Open or Closed
Open or Closed 4 November 2009 by Steven Hoheneder
OPEN
The door has always been open
Letting in the secrets and wonder of today
Where’s the door stop? It’s nowhere around
Nothing and no one bound to come through
CLOSED
The door closes shutting out the experiences
I still yet to have
Walls built to protect myself
From disappointment and heartache
Will the door ever open?
OPEN
The door creaks open
Letting a little at a time
A new love, a new rhyme
Treading through the murky waters of lies
Built to protect
A will to defect from the past
To get on with my life and move forward

It’s really cool how you wrote it. I think it’s more of a poem, but if you tweaked it a bit it could be a song. I like it better as a poem, though. Good job!
