Journal, Diary, & Blogging / neda
I heard the song you found me today and I started to wounder about a few things:
At the beginning of the song they found god and where told to ask anything?
I found god
On the corner of first and Amistad
Where the west was all but won
All alone, smoking his last cigarette
I Said where you been, he said ask anything
Where were you?
When everything was falling apart.
What would I ask? I would have to think about that? But I know what some people might ask, and it involves the most recent reports in the presidential elections. Have you ever heard of a person named Neda. I didn’t until a few days after her death. She was a 27 year old philosophy student who was protesting elections in Iran. She was killed by the Basij militia and her death was recorded and posted upon the computers for the world to see. This is a revelation to those who want to do good in the world who want change, true change the kind that only individuals can bring. Her name means “Voice” or “Calling”, she has become a symbol to the people to stand up for what is right, her voice even though will never be heard again in this world carries on to those brave enough to do something about the evil in this world.
I’m sure if she saw god before the election and asked, “Would any of this make a difference?” he wouldn’t answer directly he never would have told her she would become the rallying cry heard around the world, he probably wouldn’t even tell her that she would die.
I can tell you that most of the big riots would have armed police and if you did one thing to tick them off they would take it as a threat and shoot. IF you reason it out you know that you stand a quarter of a chance being shot at and three quarters of being trampled to death after the police fire at some one. In this event you got people running away and then you see her and you can see her fall to the ground taking shots at her head, you can see that her eyes are blank and they stare at nothing, her face is covered in blood and you can hear people calling for an ambulance but there are none around that you can see in the footage. When I saw this it did not bother me at all. I guess I lost my humanity to watching someone die, but I am a realist and you know that things like that happen in the world.
It has happened many times before. There was a saying and I’m going to paraphrase it, about how a group of people was taken away and I said nothing, and then two more groups were taken away and I said nothing and now they are coming after me and now there is no one left to stand up for me. I believe this came out around the time of the Holocaust. The point is that it could have probably been stopped after the second group was taken away but yet the people stayed silent and were setting themselves up for their own slaughter. The government did take away the people that stood against them, they knew that if they did this fear would sink in and take hold. It worked, if more people stood against it then it would be hard to make a whole population of people disappear.
I would say that all of this would be the peoples fault but they never really had real democracy. It seems like they have been living in the 1800. I believe that every country should have their big internal wars. United States had their civil war and England and other parts of Europe had their wars and they eventually figured out what was right for them. The main problem is the sects of religion, how Europe handled the Christian protestant (or was it Lutheran) either way what did they do move to different areas. Unfortunitly there is no real useable land. (Maybe I’m wrong but I don’t think some parts of Asia or Alaska are live able)
