Poetry / What is life? (Analysis)
Childhood: Is life only about learning the nursery rhymes well?
Or is it about eating good food
And avoiding junk food
Is life all about learning the ABCD’s so well
That any way you can tell?
Is life only about learning manners and values which are good?
Oh! Tell me what life is really about!
Young Boy: Is life only about reaching your goal and achieving your ambition?
Or is it about being concentrated at your studies and not distracted?
Is life only about exam tensions and anxiety in competition?
Between our classmates for , the pressure put under us for mere satisfaction.
Is life all about making good friends and not joining the ‘bad gang’?
Or is it about just doing what’s your age and being disciplined?
Is life described as doing something wrong and in return getting a guilty pang?
Oh! Please! Someone, tell me what life is really about.
Young Man: Can life only be about passing your GCSE’s and board exams?
Or is it about wasting your money on IPods
When you should be thinking about the necessities of life
Or simply could just be about getting a graduation.
Oh! I am desperate tell me what it is really about.
Man: Life must only be about working the whole day without a break
To feed the nagging wife and two little damn kids
Getting a good salary, a high social status
And a wife who isn’t a freak!
Spending time with your family which means personal interests a bid.
Someone, call a sage or philosopher!
To tell what life is really about!
Old age: Ah! I finally understand that life is varied of different aspects.
It is a beautiful journey ended by death
So much to learn, so much to do
No time to waste in this precious voyage.
Eternally harmonious, devotionally spirited, life is wonderfully beautiful!
Life is of so much more, we just need to discover, never give up!
But one thing I’ll say, listen carefully
Never compare life with fiction!

This was a great idea. Very creative. I really enjoyed it.
A few things:
Or is it about being concentrated at your studies and not distracted—-this line reads a little bit awkwardly. I think “Or is it about being concentrated ON your studies and not distracted” might be a little better
the pressure put under us for mere satisfaction—-this too doesn’t sound quite right. I think it should be “the pressure put on us for mere ___” satisfaction doesn’t seem to quite fit there, but I’m not really sure what would…
Or is it about just doing what’s your age and being disciplined?—-this didn’t really make sense to me. The “doing whats your age” part anyways
Or simply could just be about getting a graduation.---“or simply could it just be about getting a diplome” would sound better here i think
Eternally harmonious, devotionally spirited, life is wonderfully beautiful—-this is a truly wonderful and inspiring line!
I think it needs a little work, but the base idea and everything is absolutely wonderful. Good luck, and keep it up!

In the fourth line under the Young Boy there is a floating comma…the for before the comma also seems to be out of place. The last section seems out of the blue. There is no tie in to the rest of the poem. Instead of telling what is learned, show us through the actual poem.
it’s not poetry, it’s more of a list. karen
