Dear Bum,
We hope you're enjoying your vacation. Because it will seem significantly shorter this time. Please understand, you are an incoming fourth year student. It's high time you think about your future and other matters of consequence; like your career, for starters.
You have to enroll in a reputable university/college to convince the human resource department that you can actually work. No work, no pay. No pay, no food - if your parents are tired of carrying your weight, that is.
No food, you're dead. Your choice.
This is why you need to give up a month of your freedom from academics. More or less. Please knock some sense into your head and get your ass in a review center.

The writing is absolutely spur of the moment. That being said it is hard to understand what exactly who your talking to. Is the person a real bum, or are you comparing a student to a bum? It needs to be clarified, and I may be wrong but this piece of writing is not criticism. It is more of a blog or journal entry. The opinion you express could be turned into a short story though, and it may become a bit more gripping. Your ideas could come out if it you turned it into a piece of fiction.

This is lacking many elements. Perhaps if added to other comedic material, it might work. As a stand alone. Not so much. Keep writing. Peace.
I am a sub teacher, am a mother of a high schooler and a track coach for the middle and high schools and Just wanted to say: SPOT ON!!! Young one, you nailed the exact mindset of the machine that has swallowed you. Well done!
Oh my gosh, I love this. So true and to survive people must realize that have to, actually have to go by the worlds standards. After so many years (say four) it will eventually hit so said person that they will be miserable.
