Quotes / Space Debris
Although we've ascended to a prominent place,
we are still merely dust in the vacuum of space.

I had to read it multiple times to truly appreciate it. Very deep. I liked it. Is it something you came up with or is it a quote from someone else? It made me think of how we all question our existence. Very nice.

Depending on the application this could be quite poignant. Certainly, it is true.
I like the image of dichotomy here. We are so self important, yet so unimportant.
The opening line is amazing. I visualize the moment of my creation being “thrust into a prominent place”. It provokes a reader to feel a sense of their arrival on earth being significant.
The second line takes a sharp break from the immediacey of meaning and relation to our meaning. The rhyme ending with “merely dust in the vacuum of space”, is not striking.
Vacuum of space is lacking originality of thought, which is what struck a chord with me in the first line. It downplays the first line incredibly. The closing is not saying anything but a lower level of thought. It defeats humanity. Dust is nothingness. Maybe, something else can be said.
Although I think I see what you’re trying to get at, I find the wording a bit confusing. Do you really mean thrust or exist? You are playing with vacuum physics and the big bang theory when you could easily have said the universe for a vacuum means the absence of anything, eternity, whatever you mean it to mean yet we know there is debris in there. So we may be dust particles, not still merely dust, awkwardly said. Interesting concept though.
While the rhythm and rhyme are excellent, the word “still” stands out as filler. Perhaps “yet we are merely” instead, or a well-placed adjective? or “we are but specks of dust”... Otherwise, I like this very much. :)
wow. Ü beautifully stated.
poetic and very very true.
It is kida confusing. Many people may not know what “prominent” means. I liked the smbolism of “we are still merely dust in the vacuum of space”
lol. Not one of my favourite quotes. But cute all the same. But fair, that’s really all we are in the end right? Especially if you take into consideration the predictions of our world in the future.
As a quote this works really well. It is both clear and more importantly true, this being in my opinion an essential trait of a quote. It works just fine. Good job.
