I Was Promised--I’ll Find You Again Someday
Lying there wrapped in the cocoon of creation
I dared look over at the luminous white and ivory
bundle beside me
A luminosity from within her
took hold of me
And I felt myself drawn to her
Lying there in the emerald, flowered field
Ethereal grace seemed to emanate
from her as each moment passed
I heard gentle footsteps approaching
through the warm layers
that engulfed me
Closer, and I could see
The perfectly formed, translucent feet
As if they'd been refined
in a fire, white-hot
I stilled,
Though I knew the presence was benevolent
The awe it inspired
rendered me unable to move
Suddenly, with tender bronzed hands
the presence began to remove
the layers that bound me
Adoring fingertips caressed my eyes
And a majestic face
looked directly into my eyes
"Welcome, created one."
He reached His kind hands toward me
And set me at ease
He cradled me as His regal frame
Softly carried me through the blooming meadow
I could not speak
But I looked into his sapient eyes
He saw the question through my tears
“The one nearby--
The Bright One,
There must stay;
'Tis not her time.”
Tears
(I knew not what they were)
Streamed from
My virgin eyes
The presence said,
"No, sweet one,
For now is not her time."
He saw the pain
As I searched his kindly eyes
And He stopped to dry my tears
"She is a Bright One
Thriving there,
And her revelation
Has not yet come ."
"She will know grief and pain as life unfolds,
And as the seas of life toss humanity to and fro
She will become a lighthouse
For many drifting souls."
"And when she walks the earth below
Her eyes, her words
Will mirror heaven,
And faith will be renewed."
I looked into His knowing eyes
And without a word
I plead
Let me stay, Holy One,
And see her glory unveiled
Smiling, He whispered,
"Only heaven may behold her light
When she comes forth--
A created one could not look upon it,
But you'll find her again someday."
"The world below will try to dull pure light,
But you'll be there
To remind her
Of her great commission.”
He sensed one last question
In my trusting eyes
As he rocked me in his arms
"Yes, upon your return here,
The two of you will walk hand in hand,
And behold the face of God."
