Poetry / Death by Rumor
“Death by Rumor”
Love:
a Rumor
that my Mind
told my Heart
I went from Feeling
to Believing--
How Deadly
The Light in your Eyes:
a Rumor
I told the Moon--
In Her Grace
She didn’t laugh
You in my Life:
a Rumor
that took me so High
above Reason--
My feet forgot how
to walk on the ground
You in my arms:
a Rumor
so full of Hope
that I forgot to Breathe--
but I died Smiling
Poor Fool

Hi there,
Loved reading this piece thru a few times. I adore the depth of passion that hides so wonderfully inside it and between what is actually said and not said. The closing stanza rocks! “a rumor so full of hope that I forgot to breathe”. That is priceless! Please continue to post. me…

Quite nearly a 10 for me--I think it would read better if it were punctuated fully. Otherwise, I wouldn’t change a thing--especially the capitalizations. That really made the piece for me.
Keep writing!
