I’m not sure who this is addressed to though it is clever, I can’t quite understand it. A rain check usually means to do something at another time and pass up the opportunity in the moment. But somehow I don’t think this is what is meant by this quote so it is obscure. There is obvious anger or bitterness in the quote toward someone who has disappointed the narrator too many times but for what reason? That is what is missing in the quote I think. The other thought which is a stretch is that it relates to the bonuses paid to executives whose companies received huge bailout funds, but that is not a rain check.
This sounds good at first, but the object rain checks is not really something someone could drown in. What about “I hope you drown in the ocean of your rain checks_ – or something similar so that the object is actually something someone could drown in.
