Lyrics / "CHRISTMAS IS MY TIME OF YEAR"

I think you have done it!  Everything flows and rhymes, and is clear and full of joy.  You have worked hard, now it is time for some music?

Right up ol’ Christmas alley.  

I could see this getting played from December 1st to 25th, and sung by Gene Autry or something.  Good work, the “Christmas is my time of year” is a really, really good title for a Christmas jaunt.  

The first stanza was nothing special, but after that the poem seemed to pick up. I did not like the line “a crackling fire” because that is overused, although I really liked the lines “My colored christmas tree,  smiles as much as me. With bright lights that truly inspire. To make all of life shine brighter” because I found the personification very cheery. I also like the way you tied the shining of the lights into life in general, shining through. Very creative!

“That all who are giving are all really getting. More than they could ever receive.” was a line that truly spoke to me because of how we are too wrapped up in material things and giving is the only way we are really receiving.

I read this thru twice. Could be a Great over all Christmas song. Main Objective,”Christmas is your time of Year!” Your whole song backs that up which is good. I didn’t get a feel for some kind of flow tho! Need some kind of Chorus that says Christmas is your time of year. Format it again with a chorus and shorten it up!

Nice song.  I would love to hear it played on the radio.  I especially like the last paragraph.

Beautiful title, “Christmas Is My Time Of Year.” My favorite line is “My colored Christmas tree smiles as much as me.” I smiled through the whole reading.

My only question is a minor one. Did you mean to a period after each line?
In the last stanza, might you replace the period with a comma after the line ‘Christmas is my time of year,’ and before ‘to eat turkey and fresh pumpkin pies,(another comma here) while large snow flakes fill up the dark skies? This is a minor matter.

Is this set to music?

This is very good. You should publish it to a magazine or put it in a book of poems. Keep up the good work. There’s nothing I’d change.

The title goes along with the story and Christmas is the time of the year. Its warm and loving and giving. Its the time of family and friends and songs. I want to feel more of that but by this person sticking to the title I say its a good poem for that and the good rhyming lyrics.

I like it. I could really see this being a song. I love christmas so i realy fell the lyrics. If that makes any sense. Good job

This is a great Christmas song that captures all the things that many of us look forward to at Christmas.  These are the things that we dream of as November begins and it gets closer to the holiday season.  Good lyics.
