Poetry / Alone
After night has begun to fade, bringing light dismissing the shade.
No more can I hide in my dark solitude, now I must face all that is true.
Intruding on my secret unfounded fear, exposing my eyes as they fill with tears.
Bright lights denounce all that I am, there's no escape no matter what I do.
No longer sedate content in the dark, fear of rejection ripe me apart.
I am human full of fault and fable, trying to make things better while I'm able.
I fix my hair and make up on my face, only surface improvements take place.
Deep inside rages a cripping fear, making me cringe when anyone gets near.
Do I seem so strange to them, there's no way of knowing.
I walk around my head held high, prentending I know where I'm going.
I don't dare make eye contact for fear of what I might see in their face.
Am I broken beyond repair, when I look will I see a condesending stare.
Men with hunger in their eyes, women fearful telling outright lies.
I'm just a woman, alone and unsure, my intentions are good and pure.
I am so alone in this world and it gets more and more hard to bare.
Treasures of life mean nothing without someone with whom to share.

I truly can appreciate and relate to this poem.
It sends a message in which a lot of people can really see themselves.
There are some spelling errors, but otherwise well done.
Merry Christmas!

Aside from a few spelling mistakes, which I won’t list as to not use up your credits. I found this piece very moving and emotional. I think a lot of people can relate to this during lows in their lives. I personally took this piece to heart. You are a very talented writer. I wish you the best of luck with your writing.
Best wishes and Happy Holidays,
Sandra (Alma Libre)
This poem is honest and that is a really great start. I love the emotions you project in this, but do yourself and your poem a favor and spell check. Spelling errors can really take away from your piece. And don’t try to rhyme this poem is better without the end rhyme.
