Poetry / Drawing The Line...

The pen draws more than the blade,
Thoughts die quicker than evidence will fade,
Dark flashes of colour are clear,
Black, red and mauve evident of fear,
After the initial action is made,
Words soon-after will cascade,
One swift slice across the page
Will surely cure the pent-up rage,
These words soon will be dripping,
Becoming sentences that continue slipping,
Metaphors, hyperbole and similes pool,
As the pen is used as an anger tool,
The harder pressed, the more release,
As lines will form a lasting crease,
The page may be torn, but the letters remain,
So too will the memories and searing pain..

Very good, the clarity and imagery is good and the flow is good as well.

Hi there!

I read this thru a couple of times, just enjoying the intensity of its writer. I live and die for passion and reading this was pristine pleasure. Your abilities to tie things of life together with writing are killer.
On line four, maybe I am just dense but using the word “evidence” seems to fit but you possibly have other intentions here.
With line thirteen I feel “released” just flows and locks the line better but again, you are the writer.
This piece is a definitive keeper, containing so much passion, rage and clever emotion in such a short space. I read it over and over, just loving its ‘feel’. I adore your shear cleverness and emotional depth along with the ability to bring it all to the ‘surface’. So very well done! me…

I actually just wrote a poem about writing today, but I have not posted it on here yet. I thought this was good. I liked the theme of a blade slashing. I thought that was a good metaphor for writing. The rhyme scheme is very good. The flow is smoother at times then it is at others. But that is really the only critique that  I have.
