Poetry / Wind (Analysis)
grass high and green flowers faces wide
shouting to the spirits – trees, the very thing that speaks to the gods
give thanks for the rain the wind the sun the coolness of night
eyes closed holding onto wind
breath in the trees the sky everything
bright melodious color on the wind
deer perk their ears listen
grass silent dance salutes the wind whistles through tall pines
mockingbird sings it’s soft trill
broken melody winds shifts nervously
Still I walk
i walk sunken soul no place forget sky
can no longer touch held no longer in place drifting
i float no control
every footfall an impression on damp earth
Falling loose petals spiral swirl sashay
Lonely daybreak light dew kissed moisture leaves hold life precious fragile
porous air sparkling shattered remembrance through vapor
chains of fog break from silence broken spirit broken light
they cry
they cry no answer wind stands still grasping dread in forlorn branches
wet earth brings life to the air speaks not to their roots
the wind can shatter me one strong gust
scatter my being leaves to the wind
trees standing lifeless
black to azure sky
no fire no drought
faultless heavens retreat contrition remorse
lifeless hungering for what spirits will not provide
crooked arms reach out desperation lifted to heavens
panic my feet catch the earth running
trees gravestones held there places
i dodge stumble careen
desperation death the heat of exertion
wind surges in out of my lungs
fury dark zephyr washing through my temples
my feet not moving on their own
hand on my back breakneck speed
wind torrent through my hair din past my ears
Fire within sin bits pieces fall splinter
hollow winds cries sorrow drawn within black stone
rivulets chained thought float away on wind
pale reverie echoes dark wind
i cannot feel
i cannot feel torture surging every muscle in my body
i cannot feel
i cannot feel rays shards of sunshine fierce scalding
i cannot feel
only the torture overtaking my soul
blackness deep and horrid gravestones black tall
i am the trees
i scream to the heavens
the wind still in my branches
the wet earth brings so much life
speaks not to my roots
free spring winds fly from winter aloof separated
remembrance carried in lackluster dullness
earth black fertile holds onto frost forgiving nothing
prickly cold interrupted tepid breeze
pull forth under dissolving ice moisture anticipation longing
a single bud struggling fragile green from black earth

Wow,I love this. I love the energy, the pace, the vivid description of emotions and environment. As always with your writing, I am taken on a ride and at the end I want more. I wrote just a few of the many phrases I like. Too many to put down in the crit. The piece is captivating.
