The audacity of egotism

To say, here are some words.

I’ve put them to paper.

 

 

Now,

Feel what I feel.

Stand where I’ve stood.

 

Hope what I’ve hoped.

Withstand what I’ve withstood.

Love what I’ve loved.

Hear what I’ve heard.

Dream what I’ve dreamt.

Hurt like I’ve hurt.

Live what I’ve lived.

Pray what I’ve prayed..

Die where I’ve died.

Lay where I’ve laid.

 

The trained ear, that hears

Sounds of beauty, not torture.

 

Listen now.

 

Hear joy, not pain.

Sun, not rain.

 

Vividness, not paltry endurance.

Clarity, not clairvoyance.

Tolerance, not ignorance.

Peace, not environmental conscience.

Correctness, not shots in the street.

Courage, not carnal heat.

Poignancy, not objectionable tidings.

Grace, not formidable bindings.

Unity, not delayed reaction.

Sublimnety, not social subtraction.

Equanimity, not feudal reliance.

Sincerity, not unhallowed compliance.

Frankness, not appalling charm.

Buoyancy, not cause for alarm.

 

 

Hear it and now bring to voice.

What you have heard

Speak in verse.

 

 

Speak, to be heard in mortal ears.

To the fool comes relinquished fears.

Speak, wide the trembling hand.

Wide though critics panned.

Speak, deliberate in devotion.

Deliberate without emotion.

Speak, in words unrequited.

In words uninvited.

Speak, those would have you not.

Those whose anger brought.

Speak, to the place that bleeds.

To the place of amaranthine needs.

 

 

Now,

Place in your mind the understanding.

Obtuse the slaking

Fills the lust of the bourgeois mind.

 

 

Pull forth, broad spectrum.

Gratuitous fear, minimum.

Pallid taste go without.

Wan the smile of largest doubt.

Filled within the mind unwanting.

Smooth the surface is not daunting.

Filigree without ornamentation.

Fine line of consternation.
