Poetry / Together we shall ride—
Our Mother is blackened with hatred,
For she is saddened
And crying for vengeance,
Her bones are cracked;
Her skin's torn by mankind.
I can hear her torment,
And can not endure
The shrillness of her scream.
If only you would listen
With an open ear;
Open to new canals
Of healing your wounds and my own,
For we all are one;
You and I, the mother
Riding the waves of forever,
All of us together
Letting go of self;
Together we shall ride.
This will take effort, acceptance,
The compassion of wisdom;
The face of unknown fear,
So please, look within the heart.
Look in your eyes with my own,
And accept the harm
That we have brought on,
Time and time again
With immoral open arms;
My brother and sister:
For what have we done
With our mother; our sacred nun?
