Poetry / Pixels

-Pixels-

We are all only pixels
in the picture of the earth;
when combined we all define
the image of her mirth.

Pixels in a picture,
lines drawn on a page,
words that shape a story,
all in their final stage

The earth is just the first draft,
carved with finite grace--
the image is a rough sketch
of the human race.

As people we are static--
on a world-wide screen--
pixels flashing on and off,
not knowing if they're seen.
