Poetry / The book of I like
I like-
poetry time and wine, whiskey time and rhymes,
Shana and her poetry, it's divine.
I like -
people who can read me
or make me think,
because I don't like to explain
but I love to use ink.
I like -
Avocado and tomato and other fruits mistaken for vegetables.
I like that there was a national debate on whether tomato was
spelled with an 'e' at the end.
I like -
people who memorize their poems,
because I usually read mine.
I like -
people who smile for no reason at all,
people who cry over good books,
but not bad movies,
good movies,
but not bad books.
I like -
the fact that language is just as alive as we are,
and words...yes, I like words a lot.
I like -
"Spike and Mike", dykes and open mic's
twisted animation and lucid dreaming
living, laughing, loving and feeling.
I like -
The simple things, the fancy things and
the absence of both,
the idea of hope.
I like -
Barton Creek in the spring, but
Sewell Park's got that thong thing
and college girls love to dream.
I like to sing about anything.
I like-
summer rains and swings, children's dreams
and the audacity they bring.
I like -
the feeling of wet grass under my feet
I like to meet everyone I see
I like to be seen, I'd like to see you
like some of these same things.
I like -
one night make-outs that make me new friends
the feeling of a shower at the days end,
autumn leaves and summer breeze
almond butter sunsets and the creeks.
I like -
face paint, body paint,
ass shakes and pancakes,
early morning wake and bakes
long legged ladies
and the angel's face.
I like -
June brides, putting temptation to my eyes
and those wet thighs, hotter on the fourth of July.
