She’s one-legged
awkward
sideways
crab-crawling for
green grass freedom
beyond the prison of
approved blanket boundaries.

A wet-diaper and pacifier armed,
blond-curled,
fearless warrior maiden.

Impervious to her father’s repeated repossessions.
