I like this, it summarises your writing career very well. I picture you as someone obsessed with the elegance of a simple style, vividly told and well-imagined. I also enjoy the cynicism of the realisation that your entire career has been a pipe dream, and that the dreams we have can often be replaced by less ambitious ones.

It also perhaps suggests that the creator was over-ambitious with his aspirations, that to achieve Hemingway greatness would take quite an act of ambition!

Witty and clever.

Haha, story of our life isn’t it. You have a nice dream, and just when you get to the juicy bits, the alarm clock comes along and destroys it all.
I like the two words ‘rudely awakened’ – nice combo. That was what really put the icing on the cake for me.
I really want you to get published now, I love this one best!

This is a well written six word memoir.  I love the way it references Papa, relates to the contest and to your life.  Like Hemmingway’s six word memoir this is also left a little to the imagination.  While it is clearly referencing an attempt to write well, it would also be about other things, since Hemmingway’s life was very full.

This piece made me smile because I can really relate to your point. Most writers crave recognition and dream of being the “next Hemingway”. Don’t give up, writing, like all artistic pastimes improves with age, understanding and experience.
