Thanks. Because corporate America is oftentimes the opposite of “artistic” types, that is how I sold out. Instead of possibly living a starving artist’s lifestyle as I tried to write creative pieces or fiction… I instead used my writing capabilities in corporate America where the pay is good and the work is steady.

It is well written and to the point. I creates a sad feeling but also wonder as to how the poet sold out. It relates well to the topic at hand and the title chosen for it. Well done.
consider changing perspective
“a poet’s soul, shopping at walmart.” (replace corporate america with an image that invokes the same)
