Thank you, but it was in no way intended to be sarcastic. It is a painful truth of my life, as the title states. I don’t understand your humor.

This is very powerful message, and it’s amazing how you fit it into six words. It’s so true, and sad in the way that we always think we’re going to get what we want, and then when we don’t, we realize we never had a chance. Well, that’s how I interpreted it. =] Great work!

Hi there!
How true, for most attempts at success are driven by ego, the perfect set-up for failure. Nicely done! me…
I like this one. I might consider substituting the word “delusions” for “illusions”, as in “delusions of grandeur”, but that is simply a suggestion. :)
it’s an clear and logical statement, but you don’t give us an image. nothing to hang on to, nothing that lingers in the memory. a red wagon, sunlight on a porch, etc.
well said, though.
Hmmm. I wonder if this is really a true statement for most of us?? For you? I do like how it’s said, I’m more disturbed by what is said, I guess; though I have to admit to knowing people like this.
I like this quote. I read into it as saying that people who are trying to achieve success are lead into failure because they forget the genuine intrinsic reasons for creating. This is a good message.
However, I would attribute this phenomena not so much to “illusions” as also to “desires” and subsequently, “trying too hard.” The latter is more of a direct causes of failure, whereas dreams of success and desires act more as the bait that would pull someone into the trap in the trap. So there is a slight connection skip in this memoir, since the illusions are not actually the cause, but lead to the cause.
It’s biting, lol.But I do think it’s clever, lol.
