Poetry / Culture Shock

I’m losing myself, or was I someone else?
Tucked away somewhere on some shelf…
What happened to my accent?

Its short, but I enjoyed it.  I’d maybe take out the “or,” seems unnecessary.

Also, the “somewhere” and “some” in the second line are nettlesome.  Maybe something simple like “Was I tucked away on some dusty shelf.”

Anyways, it was an entertaining read.

I like how this describes the idea of culture shock.  I’m just not sure if your second line evokes the same idea.  You make the speaker sound like a toy to be messed with, or a book that was being read.  It took me a while to make a connection but is the memory of the speaker’s culture and accent tucked away, forgetten, on the shelf?  You either need more lines, which is completely up to you, or change the second line.  It’s a strong idea, but it still may need work thanks for the read.

haha, this was clever. Short and sweet….or not so sweet. Something like this always raises more serious implications. Live life like a tree. Grow and branch off, but stick to your roots.

This is almost like a haiku in its brevity, and I think it paints a lovely picture of what culture shock feels like.

This is clever but not really brilliant.  It had the feel of something missing. I had the feeling that you had something clever to say, but hadn’t quite worked out the best way to say it – yet.

There’s not much to go off of here. What is the intended message? Toys manufactured overseas to be sold here in the states? I feel lost like the narrator.
