I think this one is too negative. It’s a line we’ll all hear at some time, but not one that will sum up the writer’s life. It’s also gender specific, in that the criticiser was a man. May or may not be relevant, but if you’re trying to sum up ‘the creative life’ I would have thought it was- both men and women can criticise, be creative, and be editors.

good title, good six words.

not much to criticize. “he” is a fine pinpoint instead of “they.” makes it more personal. everyone has a “he” or a “she” who tried to step on their neck at some point.
