A Centrifugal Change:
Chapter one- All About Me

I woke to sirens and lights, some from across the street, but many from inside my head.  The dream I had woken from was full of the sirens, filled with the lights.  But such was the way of things since the day I was brought into this world, and none of the dreams ever made sense.  My small apartment was littered with empty soda cans and candy wrappers, some of which were yet to be eaten.  Back in those days things were confusing for me, and my purpose in life was unclear.  The following is an account of how that all changed.
In retrospect as narrator of this sad little story, I should probably introduce myself, seeing as how it is the hospitable thing to do.  My name is Gregory Lee Irons, but everyone calls me Iron.  Oh yes, you as the reader are most likely wondering why my parents would curse me with such a boring name.  For that thought I have no answer, it is what it invariably is.
And so I stray from the persistent narrative of the story as it is and as it once was.  Most reading will ponder over my odd way of writing this account down, to those readers I offer an apology and a handkerchief to dry your tears.  Move on, next reader please.
My mentor once told me that when writing down an accurate account, one should lure the reader into a false sense of security, especially when the story being told is serious in tone.  I have taken his advice literally…It’s a sad shame he was killed by a falling meteor, and no I do not exaggerate, the mess was pretty terrible.
And so by now, many of you have stopped reading this account out of boredom and confusion.  This is of course the intended purpose, seeing as how those who stay through to the end will thank me one day, if in fact our paths do cross, which would of course be odd in an of itself.
Something of importance to note of me as a person, an individual, and not-so-casually as the narrator is the fact that yes I am in fact a robot.  But, of course, in this day and age we use that term loosely don’t we?  Read on good reader, and all will be revealed.  Although, in fact, it seems obvious that my last name makes more sense now…
