Poetry / Just Married
From that moment when we met
I knew that I would not forget
That you and I were going to be
And that somehow you loved me
You love me for my many flaws
And picked me for them one and all
And when I grow a tail and horns
Or when I look and feel forlorn
Tell me why you love me true
And that will bring me back to you
When I’m looking old and gray
Tell me I’m beautiful anyway
I know this love is something nice
That can’t be fraud or put on ice
And in the end I’ll be looking behind
Smiling, knowing your heart is, and always will be, one with mine
