i don’t see how death succeeds us..2 e’s..:)..maybe “wins out” or maybe death brings that cycle of life to an end…i think you have something but a few word changes could make a hugh difference..go for it..it’ll be even better..jim

very interesting, it is a quote that makes you think. i enjoyed it as well learned from it.

I think a little awkwardly put though I think I know what you are trying to say. Death does not succeed us though, it’s a stretch to use succeed as a verb in this instance. (note the spelling also.) Succeed as a verb means to come next after in an order or series, or in the course of events; follow. Follow would have been more eloquent and real. Life does not follow a straight path, unless you mean birth and death, and the stages in between…but somehow it doesn’t quite resonate. What follows death then becomes the next question.

I looked at the other reviews before i decided to put my own. I find it highly amusing that people say things like “awkwardly worded” and “really need to flesh this out” because i would guess this is probably a quote by a famous writer. Awkward? It’s totally succinct. It’s funny how obtuse people can be.

I think I know what you mean but it is awkwardly said and succeed is spelled wrong, and death does not succeed us, death takes us out, it doesn’t replace us in this world, it takes us out of this world. There is a beginning, middle and end to all things is what i think you implying…but the quote as written is misconstrued.

I think you meant (that) instead of (the) in your quote. Just to let you know. I like this quote very powerful in such a small sentence. That is very important in a quote. Good job!
