Poetry / Her Hands

Her hands were strong and never weakening.

They held a strength that I will never know.
Her hands wiped so much blood and tears away.
Her hands made whatever she could not afford.
Her hands gave discipline with full force.
They held love, showing with a gentle touch.
Her hands gave more than they received.

Her hands were strong and never weakening.

They held on for dear life that day.
Her hands clung to mine with a longing,
Her hands showed the wear of the years.
Her hands that taught me so much in life,
Her hands had once been so full of power.
Her hands I held while she slipped away.

Her hands were strong and never weakening.
