Poetry / Easy To Hate (revised and expanded)
“I don’t hate you.
I wish I did though.
It would be easy to hate you.
So easy.
What makes things hard is that I don’t.
I hate what you did.
I hate how you ruined everything.
I hate all the promises you made,
And how you went back on your word.
Now I can’t trust you.
I can’t believe anything that comes out of your mouth.
It’s all lies to me.
You’ve changed.
You’re not the same person you were before.
I can’t stand who you are now,
At least, who you are towards me.
I can still see that person inside of you.
The one who can’t help but care.
I hate how it’s so easy for you to hide what you feel.
But I can also see how much it hurts when you try and hide it.
As much as I hate how you are,
It’s easier this way.
Because it kills me to think that you still care.
Because it’s out of pity.
Because I know it’s her you really care for.
I know because you’ve told me.
I don’t want to know how much you care for her.
I knew she’d be there in the end.
I always knew.
You didn’t.
But I did.
And now, I’m reminded every day
Of how I lost another one.
I’m glad I could help you find your faults.
And I’m glad you’ve corrected them.
I hope she’s a better person then I am
And that she won’t bring you down like I did.
I’m glad you found her.
Now I just hope I’ll be able to find me.”

Hello mate,
This is an interesting peice its raw, direct and to the point.
Its easy to relate to which is great but I feel it doesnt go anywhere.
I like the bit about finding me and the fact you’ve avoided mentioning god.
I dunno if feel it lacks something but then I’d quite like to hear it before I make up my mind. I often feel that about your work, not sure if its a good or a bad thing.
Anyway I basically liked it and I normally hate poetry :)
I want more tho more emotion more feeling more pain!

I really liked it! It really shows how a person changes over time – sometimes not for the best, as in this case. I especially liked the lines “Because it kills me to think that you still care” and “Now I just hope I’ll be able to find me”. Those lines are beautiful to me, along with the rest of the poem. Great job. =]

A lot of pain & a lot of emotion…it’s great; raw; & real. The worst thing about atrocities are when they occur, you’re the victim, but you cannot, for the life of you, hate the one who is responsible. I like your honest delivery.
