Poetry / When We're Gone

The day we leave this place
Will the world be better off?
Will they have had enough?
Enough of all this hate against race
Of religion being a battle
Of the government that some call corrupt
Of going up the creek without a paddle
Of how everyone wants to erupt
Because of all this war and insanity
That we face too much?
And how little girls act so bratty
From all those TV shows and such?
How about all those ignorant minds
That hate just because people are different
And the people who plant those mines
Will these wars ever stop?
Will we have true equality
Can’t we just sit back and sip our pop
When we’re gone will this place be more fine?
Will it be the best utopia of endless time?
I hope so
Oh, how I hope so.
