Journal, Diary, & Blogging / Changes in Attitude, Changes in Grattitude (Analysis)

Observing the world from a distance for the past seven years it is apparent things were not going well here at home.
Changes made after the 9-11 incident and tragic loss threw the whole world into a chaotic spin it has yet to recover from. I was out of the States on that tragic day in September. I got a call from a friend and he told me the news here in Australia was streaming the disaster as it happened. This was at 10:20 pm in Perth. I watched as the second plane hit tower two. I was shocked and chilled, emotionally distraught as all were at that time. Since that time my world, our world has come to employ a decision most would never have accepted or dreamed could happen. It appears to me that at that moment in our history, the worlds history, man has chosen to reject the individuality and freedom of man.
The decision to place blame and extract retribution from a despot who previously escaped was made. In haste perhaps but unthinkingly for certain,  without considering any possible after effects of the action. Billions if not trillions of dollars consumed. Thousands of soldiers asked to give their lives for a cause. The lack of truth behind the cause is shameful and the reasoning so flawed it has created giant unrest and political meltdown within the United States, and around the world. My feelings are tainted by emotional distress, lack of knowledge and a gut feeling telling me my country is dieing a slow death. Those who are aware of the undertow who live in high places practice denial outwardly and sweat profusely in private. We who live in low places practice our lethargy, hide our contempt and accept our lack of initiative by placing our self in the hands of God. For the most part this is exactly what terrorism may have hoped for. We are content not to ask the hard questions and accept. By accepting the actions of so few it brings paranoia a new meaning.

I returned to the United States seven months ago to find a society in disarray.  A culture that may be destined never regain it’s once proud tradition of freedom of speech and acceptance of truth until it is proven false. I believe this also has given each state the right to question every individual of that state to a degree far exceeding the rights of the individual of that state. An example of this is when I needed to acquire a new state identification card here in Okalahoma. In the past all that was necessary was a birth certificate! When I presented my certified copy from the state of Kansas as proof of my identity, it was scrutinized mulled over and questioned as to it’s worthiness. The saving grace was my passport passed as a true document and I was declared to be me, a bonified citizen. My passport is valid till 2010! What then?
My belief in the loss of ‘innocent until proven guilty’ is forever shaken by an opposite stance taken by a ‘military like’ Home Land Security Force. Powers far exceeding anything democracy might have allowed before 9-11.
Any comparison to any war laws passed into effect in centuries past only harkens to us how contrived and manipulating the past has been used to set us into today’s chaos.

Excellent work as a blog or otherwise.  Often the best writing, the best reporting, is uncharacteristically sincere with immediate reply of your visions and thoughts.

I think that if this is true writing, then it will cast opinions and descriptions and limitations without end.  It is descriptive; simple yet thorough.

If I had to pick one thing I find left hanging it is the last sentence.  It strikes for the dramatic, but it leaves me lifeless.  What is it’s intention?  It does not bear witness to the rest, merely formulates another’s opinion and almost sounds contrived for the reader to agree with.

Stay with your blow by blow as in the writing’s beginnings.  A very good piece here indeed.

‘Observing the world from a distance for the past seven years it is apparent things were not going well here at home.’
Maybe add a comma between ‘years’ and ‘it.’

Also, you need to indent new paragraphs—it’s so hard to follow.
Last of all, try to choose a topic that’s not been so worn out. People get tired of reading about the same thing over and over. You’ll lose readers that way.
Good luck.

Nicely presented. Cleanly written. Something you might consider is that the world is unfolding as it should. The people who never wished to follow the kinds of minds that are creating this country’s unrest, have been given a jewel.

That jewel?

To separate the real from the unreal and find a deeper way through.

Oh, and by the by, this world has always had people of this calibre. You are simply being tested.

Again. grin

Go forth. Find your truth. And make it known.

Be well. Thank you.

I appreciate that someone takes the time to take note of the decline of the US. The fact that a passport is accepted as official and a birth certificate is not raises numerous questions, such as HOW DID YOU GET THE PASSPORT IN THE FIRST PLACE? I only point this out because it seems that you would need the birth certificate to be official to get the passport… but hey, what do I know? I’m only a punk teenager.

I’m not very political, which may be the flaw of my generation. What will they call my generation if things like this happen? I would much rather be remembered as a communication generation rather than yet another silent generation (1950’s for those of you who do not realize…).

The growing gap between of poverty and extreme wealth may also be of interest to you; if this gap does not decrease, we may have numerous types of economical problems rooting from it. The existince of a middle class and white collar (and soon, green collar) jobs may be our only chance to re-erect our country.
