Poetry / From Prosperity to Decadence and back again...

An observer in a snapshot of time,
Left confused and perplexed.
How can everything good and concrete,
Be rooted in evil and innocent death?
Jesus came, and that was good,
But there the good deeds stopped.
They killed him and realized what they had done,
And built a church from his burial plot.
They preached and crusaded, crusaded and preached,
Forbidding things even when they did it.
And with the threat of heaven and hell,
Made people forget the sins they committed.
And let us not forget the eagle,
So mighty with it’s beak in the sand.
Sniffing out the black blood of the world,
In exchange for the blood of the tanned.
We must remember the start,
This bird raised itself to be cruel.
A few sensible men gave birth,
And handed the newborn over to fools.
Over the years, the sins grew great,
Slavery and conquest.
Surely Karma would see to it,
That the golden bird meet its death.
Ignorance is bliss,
And the eagle lives in the state.
Unable to figure out the reason,
It’s always greeted with hate.
Isn’t it obvious, why others disdain.
Tis’ no great secrecy.
The world grows poor, and the dumb grow rich,
On the golden wings of democracy.
Every dog has its day,
And this bird is surely doomed.
The streamers of freedom will surely fall,
Purity purged anew.
Ashes returns to ashes,
The cycle starts again.
And from the dust, a Phoenix will rise,
Greatness is born in the wreckage of sin.
