Lyrics / "HOW IN THE WORLD"
”HOW IN THE WORLD”
I was just sitting at the bar
Like I do every Friday night
Cause I could never dance
Or turn a girl’s head on sight
And that’s sure no mystery
Then this one pretty girl asked me
If this empty seat was taken
With a no I spilled my beer
Her smile helped me stop shaking
And the rest is history
Chorus:
How In The World, how in this world
Could such a pretty girl
Fall in love with me
How In The World, how in this world
Could such a lovely girl
Fall in love with a guy like me
Her arms hold me every night
Like I’m some kind of special prize
And after we make love
My mind still can’t realize
And will never understand
Cause my heart’s fell in love before
But this love’s different you see
Some how this girl just happen
To fall in love with yes me
It must be God’s helping hand
Repeat Chorus;
Bridge:
I use to say holy cow
What’s a pretty girl like that
Doing with that bow wow
And today I’m that guy
Imagine that…Imagine that
Repeat Chorus:

The words tell a tale of a common predicament, the lonely man unsure of love—how to go about finding it; then how to deal with it when it arrives all of a sudden, unable to understand the how or where of its appearance. This makes it easy to relate to and draws the listener in.
The problem for me is that you make a jump from informal nervous contact (”...I spilled my beer”) to hot and heavy romance (“Her arms hold me every night”) with no indication of a connection being made, beyond her smile (“Her smile helped me stop shaking”). How about a hint as to what attracts her? His eyes? Voice? Quiet manner that she takes for aloof confidence? I think we need something to cement the formation of the relationship.
Thanks for the read.

Great song; I really liked it.
This is a nice sentiment. The lyrics are good in spots and just okay in others, but I like the story behind the story. My only recommendation would be to address some of the rhyming words that struck me as a bit hokey “holy cow” and “bow wow” unless they fit the idea you were driving at, of course.
I believe that this is a light hearted did at oneself that works very well. Its cute.. although I am not sure that you would like your song described as ‘cute’ but that is what i found it to be. I only suggest that in your review notes you mention the genre of the song.. for eg: love song/pop/rock etc.. that might help with reviewing it.
Thanks for sharing.
intricate but simple. I am blown away by your successful attempt at reaching through the screen and grabing the readers attn.
at first it was sorta like a country song to me then more towards the middle its like a pop song. its good, just try and work on words for like one genre of music.
I love these lyrics. Most of us feel inadequate in our lives at some point in time, especially when it comes down to companionship. I have ruin many relationships just by the mere fact of thinking how in the world do they even like me. Something must be wrong with them. I absolutely love this, you put words to a feeling many people can’t express. AWESOME!!!
This is nice. Not really something that I myself enjoy but I could see, targeted at the right audience, with a very snappy tune could be a success. Definitley would have to be a pop song, to light for anything else. I would suggest going back and trimming up some of the lines to make it more of a flow. ” Or turn a girl’s head on sight ” has got to go in my opinion, way too forced sounding. keep at it
